Welcome to Yvestown PDF Print E-mail

Welcome to Yvestown, Yvestown is a modern, town layout planned for 'N' Gauge using Peco Settrack.

The town contains a three platform station and an avoiding line for passing freight. There will also be a small preserved line which will operate in the back of the layout behind the town and will operate a shuttle service between two stations (currently not shown on trackplan).

Why Yvestown?

Yvestown is not intended to be a model railway with a town built around it, but more of a fictional town with a railway that runs through it. The name is derived from the name of my daughter Yvonne - its Yve's town - and so Yvestown it is.

The Concept for Yvestown?

There will be two sections to the layout at Yvestown, the first is a small tabletop board that will feature a small diesel maintenance depot and sidings.

The second (main board) will be adjustable in height on a pully to allow it to be stored at a high height when not being used. The board will two track oval with the station as described above. It is based loosely on the Bachmann 'Merlin' layout but was modified to take account of the additional space available and to add the passing lines and station..
